What each plan includes, and what going over costs

Every paid plan includes a monthly allowance of managed events and listed events, and a number of check-ins on each event date. Go past one and everything keeps working. We email your admins when you get close, when you reach it and when you pass it, with the rate and the amount so far. On the 1st we email a closing statement, and the extras are added to your next invoice, plus any applicable tax. The Free plan has fixed limits and is never billed.

What is a Managed Event?

Events requiring full venue operations: volunteer and staff shift scheduling, tech/ops specifications, digital contracts, rental agreements, custom form fields, waivers, and change approvals.

What is a Listed Event?

Events published to your calendar with public landing pages, online ticket sales paid out to your own Stripe account, and mobile Front of House door scanning / Kiosk check-in.

Going over your allowance

On a paid plan you are never locked out of creating events or checking people in. As you get close to an allowance, reach it and pass it, we email your organization's admins the rate and the amount so far, then a weekly total while you are over. Your Billing page shows the same numbers all month. On the 1st we email a closing statement; the extras are then added to your next invoice as their own lines, plus any applicable tax, and never for more than that statement showed. Non-profits pay the same rates for extras as everyone on their plan. Extras are billed only for full calendar months on a paid plan, so your trial month and the month you sign up are never billed for extras. The Free plan has no extras: once you have used the month's 1 managed and 12 listed events, you can create more on the 1st, or start a paid plan.

What counts

An event counts in the month your team creates it, or the month your team marks a public submission or booking request tentative, approved or published. Requests you decline or never act on do not count. Events pulled in from Eventbrite do not count, and neither does a rental booked from a quote. A deleted event does not count. A check-in is one person on one event date: a ticket scan, a member, or a name your team enters at the door. The same person twice counts once. People who sign themselves in on your public guest page are in your headcount and are not billed.

We are not charging for extras yet. Before we start, we will email every paying customer's admins the starting month, at least 14 days ahead.

Questions people ask

How does the non-profit discount work?

Non-profits get the Base plan free and half off the other plans. Choose non-profit when you sign up and give your EIN. The discount is applied at checkout, and our team checks your non-profit status afterwards; if we cannot confirm it, the discount is removed and we email you.

Is there a free trial?

Every management plan has a 30-day free trial. Cancel before it ends and you are not charged. Non-profits on the free Base plan never enter a card. A directory listing on its own is billed from the first day, with no trial.

What do you take when money comes in?

Card processing, 2.9% + $0.30, and our platform fee: 1% on an event's first 100 tickets, 2% from 101 to 1,000, and 3% after that. Both come out of your payout.

We take no platform fee on donations or on amounts a buyer chooses to pay; card processing still applies, and a donor can choose to cover it. You can also let ticket buyers cover the fees at checkout.

Sales tax on ticket orders is calculated, collected and remitted by Venue Family through Stripe Tax. We are the marketplace facilitator, so the tax is filed under our registrations and taken out of the payout, and there is nothing for you to remit on those sales. You choose whether your prices include tax or have it added at checkout.

Can I change plans?

Yes. Email us and we will move your plan the same day, prorated to the date of the change.

How do I pay?

By credit or debit card, billed monthly. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never store card numbers. If your venue needs yearly invoices or bank transfers, contact us.

Can I cancel?

Yes, from your billing settings, at any time. You keep the paid features until the end of the month you have paid for.

We are a small team, and what our venues ask for is what gets built first. Contact us
